Yep, anytime people complain about traffic, I think back to the stop-n-go on I-285 around metro ATL heading home and kind of chuckle to myself. I drove the top-end daily and sometimes I'd make it home in 45min. Sometimes it would be 2-2.5hours. There's only so many ways to cross over the Chattahoochee. When I started working from home, I began saving many wasted hours and money in gas. When there's a fatality crash, that 8-lanes of traffic is going nowhere and for a number of hours. And when things are moving smoothly, there's nothing like people going super fast, and zipping in and out of traffic, road-rage, or coming up on things like vehicle front-ends, rims and tires, aluminum ladders, 1-piece walk-in fiberglass showers, metal conference tables (that are set up), chairs, etc. etc. etc in their lane... But the worst is coming up upon someone in your lane who's on the pavement. Been there, done that. Glad that is behind me.

I once did some back of the envelope calculations for I-75 in Dallas for when a few idiots traded paint and shut it down. It was easily a few man years of productivity if I recall for all the combined lost time.

C'mon man. There's an easy answer for running out of toilet paper, it's called India-style. Look it up if you don't already catch the reference.

    Work in progress...
After a port visit to Karachi Pakistan back in 87 the whole ship caught the shits. It got so bad that after a few days there wasn't a towel rag or pair of skivvies left. We were literally washing out rags in buckets. Our captain arranged a trade with an oil tanker that was in the area and we traded flags, hats and what supplies we could scrape up for some much needed tp. Yep we were all left dangling until our next port visit.

When a thread goes to 3+ pages I often read the first post then jump to the last to see how far off topic the thread got… so here we went from a gas gauge question to having the shits with no TP

So then there was the time Atlanta got a dusting of snow. Tracktor Trailers jacknifed. People were stuck on the HWY for 3+ days. It was called the Snowpocolypse if I remember it correctly.
There - seemingly even more off-topic, yet in actuality, on-topic (of running out of gas and being unprepared).
Now imagine the shits and being stuck in your car dying of frost-bite... There, everything is really inter-related if you look at it strangely enough. :drunk:

not even close. the fuel pump is located in the lowest portion of the tank to utilize as much fuel, and not have your scenario happen. if that was the case, again... 2-3 gallons left and you are stalling the engine, creating a possible losing control of the auto scenario, and HUGE LIABILITY for Toyota... they would move the low fuel warning light, and adjust the manual gauge, to prevent this.

again... where do people come up with this stuff? Ski

Day 1, or maybe day 2 or 3? December 2017. I did 7.5 years on my FJ too.

I sure hope there’s a huge emissions difference between my old FJ and my Taco. 11 years of development, 0.5L drop in engine size, and I get right at 1mpg better in my taco. And the FJ is a damn air brick. And I sure didn’t baby it… more towing with that thing than my taco.
