Question for those who’ve played around with multiple offsets. I’m currently running -10 and debating on getting a different wheel, same size and width but a 0 offset.

Would there be any noticeable difference, purely because of offset?

This calculator will allow you to compare offsets.

The wheel is moved inward by 10mm. Not enough to feel a difference thru the steering wheel on these trucks. Depending on the tire width, tire clearance with the upper control arm will be reduced.

Use the calculator above but zero offset on a 16x8.5 wheel has a touch of poke and causes no issues whatsoever.

I have 17x8.5 with -10. It looks awesome but there’s noticeably more road noise and weight. It also rubs the mud flap ever so slightly. I’m wondering if switching to a different wheel - KMC Impact ol, shedding 6lbs and running the 0 offset would help. The other part of me says to just drive it and enjoy lol. Pic for reference.

^What's your tire size? If it's 265/70-17, going from -10mm to 0mm will rub less on the mudflaps, but probably still rub a little depending on alignment setting.

I should add that. I’ve got 5100’s all around and 275/70/17 tires. Only the driver side rubs when turning left near the cab mount. It doesn’t touch the mount, just the flap. I removed them for now but plan to modify them and remount.

You can hollow out the bottom hole and slide it back about a 1/2 inch and a good alignment will help too. I'm on 285s and dont rub anywhere on my factory mud guards and no trimming.

You can get RokBlokz XL flaps and avoid rubbing. Cheaper than new wheels.

You went from a highway tire to an E rated AT tire. Your offset has absolutely NOTHING to do with the noise or heavier feel of the steering. Go back to a light tire with granny approved tread if you want that stock noise level and steering feel back. o_O

This lol. I don't want stock, just want it to handle like it lol. Yes, I want eat the cake too, or whatever the saying is.

That said, apples to apples; would offset change any of the handling/noise/etc?

    Loosing offset....
Handing wise the steering will be a little bit more stock as in slower to turn into the turn. The more the wheels poke, the faster the steering will feel.

Noise wise, not much change just based on offset. Probably need to change the tires to an AT to get that back more stock.

I’ve tried drilling the bottom hole but maybe I didn’t do it properly, I can’t seem to push it back far enough to engage the whole.

I got an alignment done today and noticed it’s not symmetrical. Does that matter?

Noise or handling is all tire, zero offset.
