Personally? After reading hundreds of posts like yours? You fill until it's full and ignore the clicks. Now you have the evap full and it won't function as it should which requires
Replacement. Fill till click and quit. This is not the 80' s anymore and I was around since the 70's.

For the record AND stated previously, I do NOT top off. One click and done. I've been pumping my gas for well over 40 years.

Haven't had this issue, but I'm curious to see what the issue was when it gets resolved.

Let's see what they say. For the record I have been pumping gas for 44 years.

What exactly are you trying to say?

Insert fuel nozzle, push handle and set to auto fill. Pump clicks off, you’re done. That’s what @Cogito says he is doing. Not sure what you’re saying he is doing wrong.

And I have put in 2 or so gallons of fuel into a vehicle before. The auto shut off worked perfectly fine.

All I am saying is, the guys who come here with the symptoms he described, have all been topping off their tanks by going multiple clicks is all.
He could be the first. Who knows. We will see. I know there are two sides to every story and unfortunately, we only get to see one side of it here.

Can confirm, multiple clicks will get you a charcoal canister full of fuel. Do not recommend.

I pump my own gas in NJ because of this - pump attendants love their round numbers here, and will sacrifice your evap system for their sanity.

It would seem That I am NOT the only who's had this issue. Your assumptions and confrontational tone does NOT further the discussion. But thanks for your input anyway.

I've seen mud wasps in this tube on other vehicles.

I was just confirming what @hiPSI had stated - wasn't implying the OP is a multiple-click kinda dude.

But, it's highly likely the issue is from the evap system itself, whether it's the carbon canister or fuel tank vent line; it should be covered under warranty.

Yellow sac spiders love the fuel tank vent tubes too.

Never once happened with my 2016 nor my 2020, and I've used some sketchy gas stations!

So how many times would a person have to do multiple clicks before damaging anything? Asking for a friend...
