If I wasn’t able to just buy the shocks, I would have done the 5100s too.

Springs must be purchased for an additional $214, so with shocks, springs, block w/ubolts and assembled $969

It's says you can get the shocks alone but when you hit add to cart it won't take it without springs.

BILSTEIN warrants that Products purchased from a BILSTEIN distributor in NA shall be free from defects in design, material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product and it is installed on the original vehicle the product was purchased for.

Within the warranty period the authorized BILSTEIN distributor shall be obligated to repair or replace a defective Product at its discretion. This does not apply if the Product has been used improperly and contrary to BILSTEIN’s instructions. Further claims for defects by Purchaser are excluded. To exercise its warranty rights, Purchaser must contact the BILSTEIN distributor in NA from whom the Product was originally purchased to request the return of the Product and the issue of a return goods authorization (RGA). If the Product is to be returned, Purchaser is obligated to package the Product safely for transportation, include a copy of the invoice as proof of purchase, affix the RGA number visibly and legibly to the outside of the package and return the product to the BILSTEIN distributor at its own expense. Payment by BILSTEIN or the BILSTEIN distributor of import costs (customs or other government fees, tariffs, handling fees) incurred in connection with international returns is expressly excluded. BILSTEIN or the BILSTEIN distributor shall under no circumstances be liable for consequential damages (such as, but not limited to, labor charges and/ or lost profits) resulting from the use, misuse or inability to use the Product or from defects of the Product. This limitation of liability does not apply to injuries to persons, in the event of willful intent or gross negligence, or if a material contractual obligation was violated.

The warranty does not apply to Products displaying the following: (i) cosmetic damage such as scratches, notches, dents and corrosion; (ii) normal wear and tear of consumable components (bushings, bearings, ball joints, heim joints, and valve shims) unless attributable to a defect in design, material or workmanship; (iii) damage caused by consumable components which have become worn; (iv) damage caused by accident, improper use, water, flooding, fire or other natural phenomena or external causes; (v) damage caused by improper installation, (vi) damage to Products which have been altered without the written approval of BILSTEIN or the BILSTEIN distributor, (vii) latest revision: 04.06.21 damage caused by improper servicing, or (ix) damaged caused by servicing by any party other than BILSTEIN or a BILSTEIN distributor.

While it is awesome that Bilstein gives a LIMITED Lifetime Warranty on the 5100 shocks, the warranty only covers Defect in Design, Material and Workmanship. They can refuse to replace them at their
    discretion.

I have nothing against Bilstein, great shocks, just don't expect them to replace them if you "F" them up offroading.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help and the links. Shocksurplus does look like a nice and neat way to purchase. Offroadwharehouse is a nice sight I've not seen either. But I just ordered 5100's at HotShotOffroad for $440 delivered. I plan to do a HeadStrong 3AAL with 3' taper shim for $223. This will being my total to $663 plus alignment and ECGS bushing while I'm there.

I've bought almost everything for this TRD Lift Kit at this point. Was surprised that part # 9011714011 (U Bolts) were actually $36.00 PER bolt. That is why there is currently only one in the picture. Yet the chunk of metal spacer lift part costs $9.10 a piece. All parts were bought from Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego for a very competitive price. Currently sitting at a total of $691.43 for all hardware. Ready to install this weekend once the 3 additional U Bolts come in.

    (Tax not included)

    TRD Lift Kit Shocks
    PTR1335210FR (Front Shocks) - Qty 2 - $220.34
    PTR1335210RR (Rear Shocks) (comes w/ top nut) - Qty 2 - $207.40

    Hardware
    PT59535220 (Parking Brake Spacer) - Qty 2 - $45.00
    PT82A35210 (Rear Spacer 1in) - Qty 2 - $18.20
    9011714011 (U Bolt) - Qty 4 - $144.00
    90117A0012 (Lock Nut, Front Shock) - Qty 2 - $3.54
    9167180840 ( Bolt, w/ Washer for Brake Spacer) - Qty 2 - $4.56

Welcome to the Madness here at TW. You are going to love how you truck feels with your new lift kit, did the same thing on mine. It's a pretty easy install also, I was concerned about the spring removal on the front shocks, but it turned out to be quite easy. I used the vehicle weight to release and to compress the shocks instead of using a spring compressor, that scares the hell out of me.

Planned on using that exact method to compress the springs. Actually seems much safer than the questionable spring compressors.

I had not heard of this and did some searching and found this video. WOW, I've been using a spring compressor kit for years and looking forward to NOT using it for my incoming 5100's. :)

The fronts scare most people away from doing the install themselves. Really easy if you use the method above. If you can turn a wrench, you can have the shocks and blocks on in a few hours/beers later.

Got a question, so I got a 2023 Limited Long Bed. Want to do a simple 2 and 1 lift Bilstein setup most likely.
I want to keep the limited grill and not move or mess with my TSS sensor. So you all are saying I should not have any issues etc. with my Radar Cruise or AEB working perfectly? I don’t want to sacrifice these luxuries.
I have been told from some no issues other say yes. I got two quotes for the TRD LIFT installed with alignment and new tires mounted and balanced. $3058 tax included was the cheapest.

Think it varies by truck from what I've seen. I have yet to have any issues with either.

I've read that many have done this. If you set front at 1.5" instead of 2", it would increase your chances of not having an issue because the rake of the truck would be closer to stock.... I think it would look better too.... especially if your running a 30.6" tire. :anonymous:

FWIW, I've gone the other direction and installed a TRD Pro grill when my truck had 10 miles on it and I'm nearly to 400 miles without issue on stock height.

Proper wall mounted spring compressors are perfectly safe. But.... regarding the video - you are supposed to torque control arm bushings with the weight of the vehicle on them (he failed to mention). Pretty slick way to change springs though.

I agree. I have the bolt and hook style and it does work pretty well once you get the hang of it but I'm looking forward to trying this method. Thanks for the tip about torqueing the control arm. He also didn't mention marking the location of the alignment cams to get it back close.... I plan to do that too. ;)
