I was hoping to get it wired up and powered on by this weekend. But I left work early yesterday with a crud bug. So now I’m just resting.

That is the one form of exercise I can actually tolerate... most days I split my commute, and ride about five miles to and from on the bicycle; in fairness, it's all paved, mostly paved walking trail with only gentle hills, but in my mind, it counts!

This is gonna sound really really stupid, but it's true....
I weigh each evening to determine if I can eat supper, I have about a 5 pound threshold that I kinda use (depending on hunger ).....dieting (in my opinion) is about 90% mental and 10% hunger, but...unlike quitting smoking (or drinking or chewing)...you have to eat, no going cold turkey when it comes to eating.
I weighed 204 when I got married in '91, I weighed 196 when I got up this morning.

OK, you guys are wading more into my wheel house now. Exercise is important to overall health and everyone should get at least some exercise, whether that is through your job or outside of work. Having said that, if your caloric intake was neutral and you consumed just enough to offset what your body needed for basic normal functioning each day you would need to cover 35 miles of (walking, running, sprinting, crawling, etc.) physical distance in order to burn off ONE pound of fat. The slower you cover the same distance the more fat is burned. So exercising purely for permanent weight loss is foolish. The equation is simple, if your net caloric intake is less than your caloric expenditure you will lose weight. If it is more you gain weight. People do not gain weight 5 pounds in a day and they do not loose weight at the same rate. A 2-3 pound loss week to week is the best way for permanent loss. And I am a testament that just because you understand the principals discussed does not mean that you can always follow them. I definitely need to loose some pounds.
