3rd gens are proving to be pretty good

After 3 years of reading here and 2 1/2 years with my truck I don’t see very serious issues. For all the initial concerns about the auto, if there’s threads on failures there sure aren’t many. I have read a few things about engine issues but for the amount of trucks it seems to be a damn small percentage. Still love driving my truck every day.

although some horror story's. next time i am at dealer parts dept. here on maui i am going to ask how many timing cover leaks they had to fix. small island but 3rd gen Tacomas everywhere here.

I'm on year 5, no issues whatsoever.....

 

5 months on the 18 I got with 40k on it.
Snow trips the TSS shit but it’s been issue free.
