Things were going ok. Nothing too bad. Had to weld this stupid tube on a big ass port. Finished the job. Feathered it smooth w a weave. 59AFFEBC-BB9E-4E41-8078-387E5B5129B5.jpg BC04E1B3-3155-4B31-A124-0F2705CB38C9.jpg

Then disaster struck while smoothing scuffs w a buff pad on grinder.. $700 radiator. Now I gotta watch radiator repair videos for the next 2 hours and will prob resort to fucking jb weld. Fuck my life.

That front grill gives me fj80 vibes at a quick glance.

Sometimes it seems like you can accomplish more during the 30min shop time days than the 26hr thrash fests.

That radiator has been through more he’ll than a 20 yr old one. It was only a matter of time before I fucked it.

Oh, and thanks. That's a compliment for sure. Trying to keep the front as flat as I can. The winch will stick out a little but hopefully keeps that LC flat face look.

Lol, wart hog is a funny name. This one still doesn't have a name. Been calling it Daisy but it doesn't like that name. Waiting for it to tell me what it wants to be called.

Gotta do all the frame plating and reinforcing for the bumper like asap cause that 1/8" tube ain't ramming shit right now.

This one has def tested every bit of my spirit. Getting the "its almost done" boost of motivation lately helps a lot.

I mean there has been some cool shit named Warthog. A10 Warthog, the military bronco warthog variant and of course the most important, the Halo Warthog. Truck names are weird, a buddy of mine called my truck Johnny 5 like when I first started wheeling and it stuck.

Me after I pull the steering link bolt out, then the tie rod link bolt and I don’t realize that’s two strikes. Then of course I pull the Panhard bolt out.

If you want to know what happens imagine a tower slowly falling over to the ground.

glad the $600 coilovers and oil filter stopped it.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

i was on the spectator side of truck so I guess. Took 2 hours to get it back to normal.

Idk if you have had this happen but you cannot move the axle until you take pressure off the upper link. Took me an hr to figure out that. Soon as I jacked up on diff the axle could be ratchet strapped over. Sucked.

Yeah, its safe, fully loomed and out of the way w lots of slack inside frame. I was gonna run it in cab but this way seemed more logical. Now I just have to figure out where to put brake lines.

Was it built with a thicker wall?

I told them my setup and what I planned to do w the truck and they decided what to make. It’s a 1410 cv flange at case, 1410 strap at rear and a 3.5” tube at .83 wall thickness I believe. They said if I want to drive it on the rd don’t go thicker.

if it’s super smooth and I like it I’ll prob get a thicker one for special trips/backup.

This is turning into a major tedious project like everything else on this truck.

God damn overland special. Gotta go headliner patch shopping and I’ll fit right in.
