When I turn on the heat , let say the temp. Nub is on 80 degrees or more, I sense a bad fume coming out out of went (any Went) to a point that I want to throw up after ten minutes or so. This has been noticed by kids as well. I have to immediately turn the fan down or off but still get a mild headache for a while. Is this cos of new heater and will go away later, or do I need to check it up with Toyota service center? Any help Would be appreciated!

Dealer problem, but stating by checking your cabin filter is a good idea. You simply pop out the glove box and it’s hidden behind it.

I vote dust on the heat exchanger. Like turning on the furnace for the first time in the fall.

Turn off recirc, lower the windows, crank the heat, and see if it burns off.

Take it back to the dealer if still stanky after 10 minutes.

Brand new heater core? Probably manufacturing oils and such. If a new blower motor, it really shouldn't smell.

Any chance you have the smell running the AC not on recirc?

Or just running the blower with the AC and heat off?

I think you have a point there. If it’s just the oil, it will go away eventually.
