The A-pillar trim panel that has the airbag in it on my passenger side is rubbing the dash and leaving a little groove in the panel. It is also rubbing against the windshield glass and making a buzzing noise while driving. It looks like the panel has popped out of place but I can't get it to stay in the proper position. Anyone else have this issue?

I will try and get a picture later tonight.

Most, as myself have had A pillar rub, speaker cover. Small felt, or rubber piece in-between works.

i couldn't really get any good pictures. might try again in daylight. you can't really see where the a-pillar trim is cutting a groove into the dash or how it's kinda deformed near the windshield. might just try the felt trick. here's what i got:

don't mind the scratches. the interior plastics of this truck scratch if you look at it wrong. doesn't help that this is a work truck. i won't show you my driver's side door handle area...:anonymous:

Take a short piece of 12-16 gauge insulated wire and tuck it in between the panels. Squeak will go away. I did this 5 years ago and never made a sound since.

Wedge a couple of toothpicks in there, drive it, and if noise stops, you’ve found it. Then fold up a small piece of electrical tape and shove it down out of sight. Problem solved. I did this few years back a no noise.

tried adding felt tape and it actually made the noise worse :annoyed:. how do I remove the a-pillar?

Same. I thought the felt tape between the pillar trim and speaker cover would stop the rattling, but it didn't. Perhaps it's coming from underneath the plastic trim or from contact with the windshield?? I'm curious how you solve it. Good luck.

i put the felt between the trim and the dashboard because I could see a tiny groove cutting into the dash from the trim rubbing it. Figured that would stop it. It changed the noise and got louder though. I think it's pushing the a-pillar trim piece into the windshield now which is noisier than rubbing on the dash.

Taking the pillar trim off is pretty easy. Two bolts for the grab handle (hidden beneath small covers). Then, just wiggle out. There is an airbag under there so be careful.

Pull the negative from the battery and wait a few minutes.
