They sell about 250K new ones per year, so you should see some available.

I sold my 2nd gen Tacoma on Craigslist last month Had 4 or 5 solid buyers wanting to jump to the front of the line to come look at it. I take buyers in the order they contact me, make arrangements to meet, and don't let them "show up right now with cash." (They're gonna show up with cash anyway). Anyway- I had it listed on this site for weeks for under book value and didn't hear a peep. So I guess when it comes to buying and selling used Tacomas, craigslist is better than Tacomaworld.:D

What’s wrong with Craigslist? I’ve heard Facebook Marketplace is terrible, Craigslist can’t be worse can it?

maybe some people are sad they took away the personals away on Craigslist

With all the flooding lately, I'd be cautious about anything used right now.

Never ever buy a used Tacoma. Spend enough time on this site and you’ll see how a lot of people treat their trucks off-roading, driving through rivers, etc etc

Because the tacoma got really, really popular as a Fad... But it's actually not all that great.

Don't get me wrong, i love mine, but people were paying more for a slow ass little truck, and could have gotten a full size with tons of power for a lower price than the tacoma.

The only thing that makes a tacoma better than other trucks is it's off-road capability from haveing a plethora of aftermarket parts options.
That is all it really has on the competition.

The fan boys that bought up all the tacos at higher prices are tired of paying for a slow little truck. Remember, these guys don't actually use the truck for it's true capability, so it's basically a cool looking pavement crawler that can not keep up from stoplight to stoplight...

It is because half of them will ask you to wire a deposit to a western union account. You should try it.

Currently 130 used 3rd gen tacomas within a 50-mile radius of me(central CT)

Finally starting to see used 3rd gens selling for a fair price.

I would buy a low mile 1-2 year old tacoma. Buy it CPO from a toyota dealer and you get a 100k powertrain warranty.

    Oh look, another mod....

My local news (at least 1 a week, maybe more - Because not all scams make it to the news) I hear about a robbery/shooting/murder occurring during "An internet sale gone wrong." The news report always mentions the website, and 98% of the time, it's Craigslist.

The story goes like this "A man showed up to sell a car to another man, then 2 men hidden in the other car got out and beat the man and robbed him of the car he was selling." Or, they shoot the person and leave him for dead. They always meet in the bad areas of town too. I've never understood that. Every-single-time I sell something, anything....I tell the person "The local police station is as such-n-such address. Meet me there, inside the building."

I've had a few flake out, and I'm sure I know why, but others tell me "Hey, that's a great idea, it's safe for BOTH of us!"

Bottom line: These days everyone seems to be shady as fuck, so you have to be on guard at all times.

Like other members have stated.... the Tacoma carries alot of hype but doesn't deliver on alot of it. It's a decent truck, don't get me wrong. But it doesn't surprise me one bit to see used Tacomas being sold. A person buys, a person is underwhelmed and a person sales.

    Tacomas aren't unicorns.

Agree 100%. More people need to know and do this. An easy way around potential trouble is to conduct all transactions inside or in front of the local Police department, my local PD even encourages it. I've even sold guns this way. Just give them a heads up beforehand of course. I'm confident nobody is going to try to rob me in the police HQ. Trust no one.

A lot of people are probably trying to pay off their credit accounts, as well as paying their high mortgage or rent. Being a bro comes at a cost.

I sold my previous truck on Craigslist, no issues. Also, sold and bought a bunch of little things. I’ve had great experience.
