    Hey All,

I've got an OME CS047R Leak Pack on my 2008 DC with OME N183 shocks. Per information I found on here that shock is 13.86" - 23.94" in length. I am thinking of replacing it with Icon shocks to match my front Icon 58635 coilovers.

I believe the OME leaf pack gives me a little over 2.5" of lift. The 57805P shock that Icon says is for 0-1.5" lift has a length of 14.22 - 24.35" which pretty closely matches the OME N183 that came paired with the OME leaf pack. The 57826P shock that Icon says is for 0 - 2.5" lifts I cannot find lengths for.

So, based purely on the lift height of the OME leaf pack at 2.5" it seems the 57826P would be the way to go. But I'm confused that 57805P actually matches the shock that OME sells for their leaf packs with 2.5"+ lift.

Appreciate any insight on which Icon shock would be appropriate to mate with the OME leaf pack.

    Thanks!

Welcome to Tacoma World. Short answer to your question: If you are dead-set on getting Icon shocks to match the fronts, call Icon for more info.

    Longer answer:

I did a quick search and I too could not find any length specs for the 57826P which is weird. Whether Icon doesn't want these specs shared or just doesn't make them available is weird. Expensive suspension parts shouldn't be weird - they should be predictable. On that alone I wouldn't buy them unless Icon can give you specs.

Comparing your length numbers for the OME N183 vs Icon 57805P the measurements are close but not quite the same and it does matter (maybe). Notice that the Icons are basically just longer by ~0.4" which gives less compression but more down travel. That might not sound like much but it does make a difference if you really want everything working properly. Having a shock that won't compress enough is bad. Having a shock that is too short for full extension isn't ideal but not the end of the world - just a limiting factor and something that could reduce shock life in the longrun.

Now which is right for you? To be blunt I have no idea because I don't have that specific leaf pack. However the true answer if you are trying to get the most performance is always the same regardless of specific parts. Remove rear shocks, break down your rear leaf pack to the single long leaf, then cycle your rear axle to the most compressed and most extended lengths and measure. Then buy something that works for those measurements.

If you don't want to strip it all down and measure and all that, and if you are happy with the OME N183 shocks, and if you are sure the Icon 57805P won't be too short, then you are probably OK to run them. Might have to increase the height of your bump stops by 1/2" though but all things considered that's not hard.
