Agreed. I know it’s blasphemy to mention here but my other truck is a bare bones 2013 Silverado, 2 wheel drive, 8 ft bed, roll down windows etc. When you open the hood you can actually see the ground like vehicles from the old days. Its a simple work truck for use around the house. The OP hit the lottery imho…

Leave it stock. Just change the fluids and probably tires. Don't even change the windshield. Keep everything stock as possible.

I love my 5 lug. There is a whole forum for just them.

Agree with others. Don't botch up that gem with choices that alter it's design too much. Particularly the suspension.

Tip: You can run 235 75 15 tires with no rub/cut/trim if you use OE wheels. That will offer a bit of true ground clearance and some ride improvement.

Great score ! I have the exact same truck-2009 base model -mine had 48,000 miles when I bought it last year.
Things you will want to upgrade: Delay windshield wipers, window tint, air pump mod, seat mod, fumoto oil valve, heated mirrors, painted steel wheels, tool box, rear camera, etc. These are the upgrades that I have done with mine. All the information is on this awesome site. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your progress.....

    Congratulations what a great story!

I have owned my 1986 Toyota 2wd since new and when it’s time for me to let it go it will be a gift to someone that will hopefully love it and care for it the way I have.

This is excellent. All the additions or mods make the truck more functional and comfortable but don’t change the basic truck and look of the truck.

The OP sure as hell did. The best value are bare bones trucks but 2000 dollars is insane. I’d add some all terrain tires and leave it stock and put 400 thousand miles on it.
