I have an 18 sr and want to add a bull bar for lights and function can I add without it messing with the sensors? Where are they on mine? They are not visible? Also, behind the Toyota emblem there’s wires and like a connector to something does anyone know is that an aftermarket piece? Not familiar with tacomas.

The thing behind the Toyota emblem in the grille, is the millimeter wave radar sensor. Up next to your rearview mirror is the forward facing camera. Both are for the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS P) system that even your SR model came with, starting in 2018. I don't run bull bars or lights for looks, so I can't help you on that part beyond saying that you'll want to not obstruct either sensor/camera field of view...

Hope that helps. Welcome to TW!

    It must be said.

Add lights for function. Meaning research and wise choices will help.

Bull bars don't look good, especially on 3rd gens. Too clunky. And they are more likely to be a damage multiplier than functional in case of a front end mishap.

    Now.

Please proceed with your initial intentions if you wish. :D
