Without the washers, but I had tried the 1/4 inch thick washers and it still was too close to the catalytic converter. It rattles but not as much.

You guys that have the rattles, have a look at what I posted awhile back, (#336 of this thread). Mine rattled when I first installed them too.

All you have to do is remove you shield and place it on the ground, then push down on it to give that tang that goes up and over the crossmember a bit of a kick upwards. Then you’ll need to use a clamp or have a helper hold it down when you tighten up the crossmember bolts. This should give you some clearance.

He probably is aware of the lead time on these as he seems in no hurry. Hes got 8 to 10 weeks to get that one out.

I'm confused. In the photo you said bend the piece that goes over the transmission cross member up. Wouldn't that put it closer to the cat?

I agree, it does seem confusing, I’ll try to explain though. If the body of the shield is resting against the cat and you’ve kicked the rear section up a little, when you clamp down on that rear section to tighten the bolts it should push the whole shield downward and increase the space between the shield and the cat itself.

You don’t have to go crazy and mangle the thing, just place it on the garage floor and use a little body weight.

I installed mine last week after a very long wait to get these. Installation was straightforward but they really should give you torque specs for everything but they tell you contact them for the spec. That's lame. The four bolts that hold each of those little cross bars on were not very tight from the factory, so I put some blue Loctite on the two originals plus the two "security" bolts they supply. Not really sure how much security they really provide because, 1. nearly everyone has a set of those torx bits anyway, and 2. if I'm a thief, I'm just going to grind through all four bolt heads in a few seconds to get to the cat. Hopefully it's enough to send them to the Tacoma (or Prius) down the street. The thing I really objected to about CaliRaised is that they sent out these ridiculous email messages that made it seem like a mandatory emergency response was required when it was only them asking you to fill out a survey about how their service was. And since I had been waiting for a month, I'd say pretty lousy. But really, do you need to bother us with such inanity. Fabrication, yes. Understanding human interaction, not so much. Those that got their deliveries last week, when did you order? I'm at 6 weeks, no tracking number yet.

The only notice I got was after it actually shipped, telling me it was on the way. I was just getting ready to bag on my order when it finally shipped. After my previously outlined experience with this company, it's clear that they have a long way to go in terms of customer service, especially after the general population has been conditioned by so many companies that are doing it right. I can't imagine ordering from them again.

Well I’m on the verge of actually cancelling my order. It was changed to 2WD version on 12/9/22 and being that I chose local pickup thought it would be faster. The only update is that they’re having manufacturing delays. Looking into the miller cat shield, a lot more expensive but it’ll put my mind at ease faster

Well at least their installation video was well photographed, well lit and to the point, but if you don't have the part to install, the video is completely superfluous.
