you can set the sensitivity level. those with issues probably have theirs set on the most sensitive setting.

Are you talking about the follow distance setting? 1, 2, or 3 bars?

The arrow represents the direction of travel. Once the cork lets loose, it flows to a nice taper before slamming closed.

What I find most dangerous about the adaptive cruise is that it applies the brakes and doesn't tell you it is doing so. I once had it set for a long trip. Part of the trip was a mountain climb and descend. On the descent, traffic starting coming to a stop. As soon as I tried to press the brakes, I realized they were cooked and they barely held me back from having a possibly fatal accident. Realized then and there that the truck had been randomly braking in order to maintain distance from the car in front of me and hadn't made me aware it was cooking the brakes. Never used it since and never will again. That's a death trap and honestly I'm mind blown we don't hear more about it. If the car is using any automated systems to brake, it should at least let us know with something as simple as a light.

Glad it states it somewhere. But that just covers them from liability. The morally correct thing to do would be to put a light in the dash dedicated to lighting up each time the brakes are engaged without user input.

How many of us read the owner's manual? (No need to answer)

I've had the system beep at me (two incidents) when I was traveling at a speed that may cause an accident.

Both times, I pressed the brake at the same time the beep happened (so the system did not brake for me).

I use DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) all the time while traveling on Hwy 1 between Dover & Delaware Beaches & when I'm driving up north to Wilmington.

I set the distance bar appropriately so that braking is done automatically and ANTICIPATED by me when distance becomes apparent.

It's all a matter of becoming familiar with how TSS works.

Watch this is your spare time:

And also watch Chloe explain some interesting reading from owner's manual:

Not trying to be a smart ass, but it is kind of up to the driver to understand how the systems work and apply them when and where they are safe.

    Agreed.

Using the system in settings away from high traffic helps.

I learned that when I started riding my first motorcycle...a Y2K Gixxer 750!

That Moto is long gone...as is that License plate.

    298475_10150332494415687_551430686_85016_c23d01fb0862d2bd44bcc348844899c27d1e190a.jpg

I test the LDA (Lane Departure Alert) as well as the DRCC because I have an aftermarket Vintage Grill on my Sport and want to make sure the system works as designed.
