Hello I went to have my 2010 taco alignment done and was told rear rnd bent!? There is no vibrations or rubbing noose and no fluid leaking at all. I parked it on a flat surface parking lot stepped back several feet and did a visual check. It appears my right rear wheel is tilted in slightly!? Rear tires seem to wear wrong. Another driver who was following me said it looked sideways as i was driving. Sorry if my explanation is to long. Thank you all for your rime.

sounds like you have been in a collision. is your rear axle aligned properly or has it shifted?

im guessing your rear axle is sideways?

only a couple reasons. your leaf springs popped out of your diff. there are little nipples on the leaf springs that pop into the diff and thats how the diff stays in place. never heard of them popping out. maybe if your u bolts got loose?

your diff was damaged and bent? seen that on a 4runner. it was hit in the rear right and bent the diff.

    your frame is bent?

long shot, but your bushings in your leaf springs are very shot, causing movement?

Check spring eye, main leaf, at front hanger end. They are weak and will bend at that point if rear tire was hit from behind. You may not know it was. You can compare measurements from center of front to center of rear wheels on each side. Tape measure will show difference .

First thank all of you for your response. I bought it used and ran a check on it. No accidents so it says. I'll try to get some pics. It has 187k miles runs great. It was a work truck. Maybe new shocks and leaf springs? Kinda hard to tell with the rust. Would be great if it were springs easy fix and less cash. You guys are great. Keep your ideas coming. Stay safe

Tilted in at the top or at the front?

Measure the distance between the right and left wheel in the four quadrants, Front, Top, Rear and Bottom. All measurements should be equal. If not it is bent.

"Another driver who was following me said it looked sideways as i was driving. "

Called dog tracking, caused by an alignment problem in the rear axle(s). Watch the video.

Thank you sir very helpful. So, its possible that there is a bent axel? Another post also states possible leaf springs. When i had the alignment done, they never explained what they thought it might be. My guess they didn't wanna deal with it. I'm going to replace shocks due to millage. I ran the VIN no recalls or accident showed. I'll try the measurements next. Open for ideas to save some cash. I think tilted in at the bottom. Thanks and stay safe.

As another poster stated above it is possible that the axle assembly has sheared the alignment pin on the leaf spring set and has shifted. An inspection of the axle to leaf anchor point it should be obvious.

There was also a rear leaf spring recall for certain 2nd gen trucks. Check with your dealer to see if you may be eligible for that one.

You can also use 3rd gen rear springs as well! Theres alot of take offs on FB Marketplace you can get fairly cheap, and change springs and shocks all at once!
