I think Rikon makes a small bench top that is variable speed also. They have a great warranty too. A little bit more money than used but there is a lot to be said about a new tool. I'd look at Grizzly too, great customer service and parts availability.

I had good luck with finding a drill press on Craigslist, or Facebook marketplace. You might even put out a request if you are on Facebook. I find that drill presses are one of those tools that homeowners buy thinking they will use it a lot but often it gets used for one project then collects dust and stuff so often the used ones you find are in pretty good condition. I have three that I use with my bracket making side gig, all set up for a different purpose to streamline the process. I made a simple key holder for my wife recently using a brass rod and a couple scrap pieces of poplar from Home Depot. I used my drill press to more precisely mark the start of each hole for the brass rod and then set the wood at an angle to use the drill press to precisely drill multiple holes at the exact same angle so when the brass rods were inserted into the holes they all were a uniform height and all at the same angle. It worked perfect and there is no way I could do that by hand. I also have put in a small wire wheel into the drill press to help clean up some other tools and remove some rust. Using the wire brush in a drill press instead of a bench grinder gives just a bit more versatility and you can select the size and composition of the wire wheel a little easier than a fixed bench grinder with a wire wheel. And I have put a sanding cylinder in the drill press and that has worked well.

I like using a laser. So many different designs to choose from. Just do a screenshot from a clip art site.
My daughter is a graphic designer and she made my logo.

I'd love to know what laser and software!

I'd like to laser mark my work, I don't need a large area, but I'd like to be able put a smallish logo on the corner of a large board.
Is there something out there for that type of use?

I picked up the l1 pro version because it's supposedly improved. It wasn't much more, so what the heck. I'll see if it works out on Saturday.
