    Hi.

The HRB isn’t necessarily sized to work with any particular size master. It’s just a cylinder itself. How far it travels is dependent on how much fluid you push into it. Any size master cylinder will push X amount of fluid for X amount of pedal travel. Correct? So, resizing to a smaller master cylinder will push less fluid for the same amount of pedal travel as before. That being said, if we go to a smaller cylinder, and increase the pedal travel, we maintain the same bearing travel at the pressure plate. With this increase in the pedal travel, we widen the engagement zone in relation to the pedal travel/swing. As an added benefit, since we are now pushing on a smaller cylinder with our foot, it will actually be easier to compress the same amount of pressure. It’s a bit counter-intuitive, but think about air compressors, bicycle pumps, that sort of thing. Higher pressures are achieved easier with smaller pistons with the trade-off of volume per stroke.

If you have a complete pedal assembly along with the bracket that it all hangs off of laying around, then it would be super easy to work with that to get a different size master in there. I would love to do that. Although, currently, I have zero income so, I’m not really in a position to be buying stuff like that. If you come across another one of those things, please let me know.

What if I send you this pedal assembly I acquired for you to have a go at it? If you have the bandwith to take on this side project I could sponsor the r&d since you seem to be better equipped to do this kinda stuff. I could send you a tilton mc as well. LMK, I think all us 6mt folk on here would benefit from having this solution.

I’ve got the chirping birds in my throw out bearing, if you’re still interested in producing the mounting parts I’m more than willing to purchase.

I have nearly all the toyota FJ pedal parts as well as the Tilton stuff needed for this mod if anyone is considering it and has a way to make the spacer and that tab or whatever to hold the HRB in place. I will make you a package deal. PM me if interested.

I bought all the parts last september but have not had any luck contacting @Kasbien on his spacers since I reached out a few times back in October. I haven't seen him post elsewhere and he doesn't appear to be banned, so I hope he is okay. He seemed like a nice guy in my communications last July and really wanted to help.

I dont know anyone locally who machines stuff like this, and after having custom parts machined before I dont feel like dealing with all that. At this point I am just going to throw a stock bearing back in and hope for another 130k out of it.

Is there anything I can be of assistance with Bill? I’ve got access to a cnc plasma cutter and lathe. Really can’t stress enough how much I appreciate the work that’s gone into this and am looking forward to the results.

Currently I’m off playing mountain-man in the redwood forest west of Boulder Creek, CA. So, I’m just messaging when I can get a signal.

I’ll hopefully be back in PHX mid next week. We can form a plan then.

    Hi all,

I'm sorry for letting you all down big time. The "TLDR" is rather than swimming through life, I've been sinking - for a long while now. I was ready to abandon this thread and the Taco scene all together as I was ashamed of becoming the person that I once despised. That person being someone who leaves others high and dry when they really needed something. Been in those shoes before and I know how much it sucks.

Thanks Bill for reaching out to check in on me. I don't want to give out anymore false hope as I have done enough of that already, but I do feel like at the very least I ought to get some kits out to those who need it now (@Littles especially). If you've already moved on, I understand completely. After that though, if I'm still struggling, someone else can step in and take over to continue supporting the solution.

No worries, Kellen. Its just truck parts. Happy to hear from you and have you back on here.

I sent you a PM about the kit. Would love to get my hands on the last few pieces from you.

Hey @Kasbien- there are plenty of us who have hit a rut in life, and then have put in the work to climb out... Don’t be ashamed of climbing out brother.

if you or @Littles do decide to start making these again please let us know. I would love a set.

Thanks for the kind words gents. @Littles I just got back to your PM. @HellsWells you need the supplies as well? I should really make a priority list so I don't forget anyone. It's been so long that I need to get reacquainted again.

@Kasbien I do and am in no hurry. My Tacoma parts bin ‘overfloweth’ with plenty of other projects to pick from. The rate at which I buy parts is greater than the rate I install :)

I know there’s a list ahead of me but if you do have enough left over I’d be interested as well.

Side note: glad you’re alive and kicking.

Glad you're alive and kicking. Understand about life getting to you and kicking you while you're down. I'm still interested in parts when ever you have time for them but no rush. I've got the HTB parts sitting in a box waiting for me to get back to them lol.

Recently read through this whole thread about 5 times. Still not sure if I fully understand the scope of this whole project but I have ordered everything I think I need minus the custom parts. So still need the machined spacer/adapter and bracket that aligns/holds the hrb in place. If anyone is selling these please feel free to message me and name your price. Otherwise I will try my best to find someone local to do this. The info in this thread is a gold mine for any 6 speed owner.

For some background I purchased my truck around 25k miles. The chirp first appeared around 35-40k at which point I installed the urd sleeve and oversized tob. It developed the chirp again starting around 75k miles if I recall. I am now around 130k miles and the chirp in the last couple months has gotten noticeably louder to the point where if I'm in a drive-through with the window down it can be hard to hear someone talk if I'm in neutral with the clutch out.

Also about to change the rear main seal on my other vehicle so I have something to drive around if this ends up being a multi day project. I have really begun to hate working on my own vehicles later in life but can't afford to have someone else do it now so what can you do huh.

Hopefully everyone in this thread is doing well.

    Warm regards

Let's get some of you taken care of! I've made (attempted) a spreadsheet to be better organized. Everyone can view it, just not edit. I'll try and update it as I go, so perhaps book marking it would be a good idea.

I need to know what transmission you intend on putting the kit in. Also knowing the year and drivetrain (engine, 4WD/2WD, etc.) could be fun for statistical data. Probably best to PM me as to not clog up the thread? We'll call this "Group A."

If I am able to continue supporting this idea after the first group I will continue doing small batches of them. Easier for me that way than one person at a time.

If you aren't ready to accept new orders on this, please add me to the queue for a possible future next-batch.

The re-engineering in this thread, including the pedal replacement & ideally MC replacement also, looks like the way. If I can get the necessary custom parts I'll go ahead and order all the other off-the-shelf stuff laid out in @BillDaCat8 's post #2.
