Nothing like a 5am snowblowing session to get the blood pumping.

 

People that have accomplished nothing all week but want to feel as tho they have. Best wishes!!

 

At one point we had a useless, overbearing, morally bankrupt, lumbering buffoon of a man misusing the title of Operations Manager.

He scheduled a "production wrap up meeting" for Friday afternoons - naturally after production ended and all the workers went home to get started on their weekend beer drinking at 2:30 - 3:00 pm.

All the floor supervisors had to attend, he would keep them for an hour (or 2) while he yabbled about nothing to a captive imprisoned audience. We make the same things every day...

His logic:
1) He "works" until 5 (and started at or after 8)
2) They are salary employees and therefore "owe the company" the time, pay no mind to the fact that the floor started at 5 am and they were all there before 6.
Being as I was Maintenance and therefore not important, I shut down, locked up and went home.


Epilogue: When a downturn came he did some personal cutting that really jacked things up for the ones who remained - "do a little more with a little less".
Finally the owners realized that he added no value and was cut, oddly they chose to fill his position with - NOBODY - productivity went up...

 

A piss poor clueless manager, is who scheduled a Friday late meeting.

Either he knows it's not real important or he is a completely clueless.
