Got new skids in mail today for 2nd Gen short bed. No instructions included but did find some online.

also got these slider plates in separate shipment and have no idea what they are for. Were not in the online instructions best I could tell.

They get sandwich between the front mount and the frame by the cross-member. I'm not sure if all models use them. The arrows point the front of the vehicle.

Threw the sliders on today. It was my third time installing rci sliders. Took about an hour a piece by myself with only a floor jack

Which one did you get? Is that the 5degree? I'm thinking of getting that for my 3rd gen as well.

Wifes sliders went on today. Hers are 5 degree. I absolutely love that the top plate is bolt on and can be removed. RCI also added this laser cut mountain scene that's not on the Tacoma sliders.

How many weeks did you have to wait for the sliders? Their site says 3-6 weeks, just curious if yours came in earlier than that?

These were actually in stock! I went and picked them up a few days after I ordered them. My tacoma sliders took about 4 weeks. Email their sales guy Evin, he should be able to give you a closer idea of timeliness.

RCI does its own PC now. I've had 2 sets for 2 years. The coating is good except where you scrape it off on rocks. Then just hit those spots with flat black paint.

Are the treads on your Taco bolted on like your wife's 4runner?

    I just ordered mine.

No, my taco treads are welded. But they are also much older then hers. So maybe your will be bolt on with the mountain scene also.

Do you have a buddy lifting them in place (highly highly highly recommended) or using a jack? If you do them yourself with a jack wear a helmet and don't rush it.

Once you get the first bolt in the install instructions it's easy and kinda fun

I think after seeing they weigh about 100# a piece I will bribe my niece's hubby or one of my other nephews to assist, I've taken the stock predator steps off the came on the truck, they were so light, I saw someone weigh both in a video, 12 pounds for the stock steps

EDIT: 60 pounds a piece, 120 total, I checked the video again

From the pics on their website it looks like there will be mountains on the top plates and they will be bolt on.
    I will know more when I get them and post it.Screenshot 2024-02-28 at 11.11.02 AM.png Screenshot 2024-02-28 at 11.10.36 AM.png
