reliability is in your favor however, there are no guarantees. it's helpful if you know the owner and maintenance history of the truck. if this is from a toyota dealer hopefully they are offering it as certified used.

as for fuel mileage and assuming stock no mods, the MT is about 1-2 MPG less on average than the auto. a lot depends on how you drive, tires, where you live, highway/city, etc.

in the summer i average 22-23 MPG with my MT/V6/4WD. this time of year, about 10% less.

Be wary of previous tunes, mods, abuse. That's why I never buy a used vehicle. Financial types will tell me I'm nuts but
I drive them for 10 years minimum and knock wood have never paid out the ying-yang for repairs.

    Otherwise - if it's a good deal - JUMP ON IT ...

If the asking price is within say, $2,500 of a brand new 2023.. buy the new 2023...

As above comments have mentioned, depends on mods and how you drive your vehicle. Had my ‘21 for a year now (bought it with 7400 miles on it, clean title, no mods) and with my A/T I average 21.7mpg.

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I owned a 2022 auto pro, hated the transmission rebought a 2023 MT Pro. I don't care what Toyota says. I get better gas mileage out of the MT by about 1 mpg in all conditions. But to be fair I've never owned an automatic. So maybe I just hit the gas gas gas too much.

When they compare mpg. I believe they keep everything in the test the same. Which would explain why an experienced MT driver would get the same mpg or better. The computer inside an auto doesn't see a red light or down hill and coast.
