Buying a Tacoma with damage, repair cost?

First time Tacoma buyer (love Toyotas). I’m really interested in this trd sport 21’ which is in immaculate condition besides this little bit of body damage on the front right headlight and side panel. I am attaching images of what’s wrong. I knew the truck had been in an accident but i figured it was back to “mint looking” condition. You can’t tell in the images sadly because it’s so minor. You can literally “push” the panel back under the light and it looks fine, maybe the clips are just broken?

What would it cost to get this fixed?

The truck is priced lower than market because of this already, and I’m assuming it’s been on the lot for 4 months for the same reason. The guy at the dealership told me it would be less than a grand to fix it, but I’m thinking if that was the case why wouldn’t they do it?

I also attached an image of the other side of the hood. The spacing on the messed up side is too big, which is my biggest concern. If purchasing, I would want to get it fixed immediately so any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Long travel kit will fix those fenders.

Looks to be minor fender bender

Hood gap if definitely an issue. Bumper clips may be broken. Any scratches on the bumper ? Or did it just pop out ? The hood can most likely be adjusted from the back two hinges. Doesn’t look like anything is severely broken… just misaligned

Sadly i left the dealership and didn’t get a pic of the door gap, but I looked at it and it looked fine. The passenger side fender did seem to be a little “loose” as well, the bottom part of it was coming off. Again thought could be pushed in. I really just wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting screwed over, seems like it’s not gonna be extremely expensive from what I’m hearing. Anything under 1500 i would be happy with

It looks like the bump on the bumper pushed the fender back a bit. Depends on how picky you are it could be fixed back yard style for cheap or the perfect fix could cost $2500. You pick.

Pic of my fender/hood that I took yesterday for a different thread.

    20230126_162902.jpg

Pic from the OP's first post

It looks to me like the front tip of the fender above the headlight kinda "veers in" towards the hood in the OP's pic. That front tip needs to be repaired properly and then the whole fender can be repositioned to line up correctly with the hood and the bumper.

Prob take $2k off the price of this “immaculate” ride… that takes some major money to fix.

Also what caused this damage ?

You can get a fender from the junkyard yard that is the same color.

If it was easy to fix, the dealer would have fixed it before pushing it onto the lot.

Something's fucky. It might look like just a couple of clips or a bumper or "just a grand to make it right," but something is definitely fucky. No dealer would let it go like that if they could have made a bigger commission by fixing it.

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
It would be crazy if there were businesses that specialized in auto body that you could go to and get estimates on services from…

OP, what is the price they are selling it for? Not posting it is a red flag.

this, they can get it fixed cheaper than you can. A nearly new $30k truck and they won't spend a grand or two to fix? that's shady AF

Agree with the group, if it’s $1000 to fix tell them okay I’ll give you a grand more to fix it then I will take it.

If you can't get an independent body shop to look at it, stay away as tempting as it is.

Another issue may be it was involved in an unreported front end collision and poorly repaired. Something like this would make me a little nervous . Not to state the obvious but salespeople lie.
