I’m definitely leaving the performance side of it alone for now. Honestly I was hesitant after someone made a comment about the green and bronze, but I’m very pleased with how it turned out.

I have a 2019 with little stuff here and there . I did the sound system but performance wise all stock. I take good care of it and it treats me right . I still enjoy driving it as much as I did when new .
Let it break in and you’ll be good to go

The K&N cold air intake made a HUGE difference, bottom-line! Adding the Pedal Commander enables me to adjust to terrain conditions on-the-fly. The dual tips exhaust kit adds just enough additional performance to make it worth the purchase, however it was a pain to install.

    Best bang for the buck:

    1. K&N Cold Air Intake
    2. Pedal Commander
    3. Dual tips exhaust - Follow link to video to answer your question...mine does sound better because of the intake:

The K&N cold air intake had the biggest impact on performance, it allows the engine to breath.

Look for a kdmax tuner in your area. They are on here. Search for kdmax pro 9 tune. I guarantee you that your truck will be entirely different and a lot more fun to drive.

Doesn't that void the Toyota warranty?

Or, just change it at the intervals that the manufacturer recommends, saves you some money, and only makes a marginal difference. I've sent 5k samples and 10k samples to blackstone (both looked great) and they have told me I can go as far as 12k with zero additional wear or tear.

OP, that's a great looking truck. Love the bronze trail edition wheels!

Agreed. I've been doing 6k-7k oil changes on my 2000 Tacoma for years after having Blackstone test it a few times. Truck has 362k and runs perfect.

360 cam is also standard on the "Premium" trucks in 2023.

The the the tune would be fun but I never did it due to warranty I have a extended warranty and too risky. Not that expect issues but if there is one it would be my luck even if I was lucky enough to get the tune off in time , I have a feeling they could still find out .

Everyone has to make their own choices and I completely understand where you're coming from. Just FYI however, this is from the FAQs on my website:

    Can the tune be detected?

KDMax Pro tunes do not change the stock ECU Calibration ID. Standard scan tools used by Toyota and other OBDII scanners will read the ECU ID as stock. However, this should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the tune is totally undetectable under all circumstances. As with all computer hardware, an engineer with the proper equipment and expertise could perform a forensic analysis on the ECU and most likely detect the changes. We have not, however, had any reports of this occurring.

Will tuning my truck void my warranty?

While the chances are extremely low, no reputable tuner would ever guarantee that there could never be a potential warranty effect. As with any aftermarket modification, if it can be proven that the mod caused the failure it could potentially have an effect on repair approval. To date we have had no reports of this happening. If this is a concern, we we gladly flash your vehicle back to the stock tune prior to any warranty work and re-apply the tune after completion, all at no charge.

Toyota dealerships don't have the tools on site to go into the ECU and look at checksums, etc. They'd have to pull it and send it to Toyota. A tune is like any other mod. If the aftermarket part is determined to be the cause of the defect in can affect your warranty for the issue at hand, but nothing "voids" the entire warranty. For example, even if you were tuned, if your wiper motor went it would still be covered.

The cold air intake and exhaust doesn’t do a thing for power. It sounds faster and the peddle commander makes the throttle more sensitive. Placebo effect. Spend the money on a tune for real improvements.

Yeah, I know what they do, maybe a tune later down the road, but I don’t drive highway much. Like 2-3 times a year the rest is rural so I have had issues with power or tranny searching!

Also I made it from the dealer to my house with the old skid plates and I immediately ordered the bed mat.

The dealer can't see it's tuned.
