    Hello,

I was recently rear ended. The driver rear side of the bumper was mostly affected. The step pad was cracked, the metal pad supporting the pad was bent backwards beyond repair, and most of the plastic moldings holding the BSM and outer most park sensor was left dangling out of the bumper. I managed to get all the parts and repaired the bumper. I did not replace any of the park and BSM sensors hopping that everything would still work. So after reassembling everything back together, the park sensors were working just fine as I hope they would. However, the BSM did not. I got the message "blindspot monitor not available." I had no other error beside that. So I figured maybe the connection was lose or needed cleaning. I removed the cap/shell on the driver rear side and disconnected the BSM sensor. I gave it a good look through and cleaned the connection with contact cleaner. Reconnected the sensor and that's when all my problems started to happen. All my windows will not work up or down, AC/heater wont turn on, park sensor wont turn on, bsm of course still not working, and the airbag light is on. What still works is the nav/radio, locks, tucks starts and runs, and all lights work.

I tried using a code reader to clear codes, disconnected battery, and checked fuses(none blown). Did I somehow blow an ECU module or something?

Guessing you did not disconnect battery first? I would guess there is a short in the harnesses you were working on from that accident. Possibly you miss checking a fuse, did you check both fuse locations? Double check both fuse locations, again.

What codes are in the airbag system?

    Test (leave BSMS sensors disconnected)
    Windows need to "initiated".

God you guys are pure gold!

I rechecked fuse at ECU no 2 and it was indeed blown. Checked the all the other fuses for good measure and they were all good. Just replaced the burned fuse and yes I remembered to have the battery disconnected before doing all of this. I admit I didn't disconnect the battery before checking the BSM which led to of all of this . But I am very happy to say that my windows work, airbag light is off, ac/heater working again, and park sensor works again! But I gotta say it's pretty scary that something like a BSM sensor can blow a fuse and disable a crap ton of stuff. Now at this point the BSM is still not working but I can live with out for now. But what should I do get it working again? Is there a way to test these sensors? Also I was reading that if these are replaced the dealer has to recode them in?

Dealer needs to "calibrate" the sensor replacement, very expensive items.
Some fuses join multiple systems/circuits as a signal source, others provide the necessary fused juice to system.

The guy who hit me had no insurance and was renting a car and begged me to pay me instead of claiming on insurance. I took my truck to a few shops and got repair estimates and he agreed to pay for it. They were all asking 7k. He did pay. But next time, hopefully there wont be a next one, I will go with a shop to do it.

Sorry for not posting update sooner. I narrowed down the problem to a faulty BSM module and got a used one on ebay. After replacing the driver side BSM everything worked again and the fuse did not blow. So that solved the problem. Also I didn't need to get it calibrated. I guess calibration is needed if there was extensive body damage that affects the dimensions and angels where BSM module rests on? But this wasn't the case with my truck.
