My 2022 sr5 with 4k miles appears to have both upper control arm ball joints seeping grease. Is this normal? Both sides look like this. Seems like to new of a truck to have grease leaking already . What do you guys think?

Where or rather how is it leaking. Is the boot split, bad. Seeping from top or bottom of the boot (caused by use) not a big deal, it should stop.

It appears some grease is coming out the very bottom of the boot where it touches the knuckle. No tears in the boots and both sides look the same. I drive this truck on the road. No abuse just seems early to have grease coming out

Most likely residual grease from assembly. Wipe it off and check it again in a month. If it is still clean. Nothing to worry about. They are a sealed, nonserviceable unit. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about.

It can depend on factory tolerances... maybe your got a little extra grease... maybe yours didn't seal up right away after assembly. If you don’t see a tear and only see a small amount of grease, I doubt there is an issue of concern.

Typical ball joint shown, not from a Tacoma:

Where the boot meets up with the stud pin is not a watertight seal, because the stud pin rotates relative to the boot when you steer. Grease will seep out from that interface continuously. After a number of years, the joint will dry up and you'll need to replace the ball joint.

Wipe them. Check them in a few weeks.

if they are leaking they will still last quite awhile. If u can grease them that will keep them going. If not I’d use this for an excuse to get some aftermarket UCA’s with an easily changed ball joint.

if warranty is out just ride them and keep a close eye on them because honestly if they are leaking you don’t have many options. Replace and ride on.
