Couple questions I’ve got. Recently swapped my OEM exhaust for a trd performance exhaust. OEM was axle dumped and when I swapped to the TRD one, I did the same. This obviously omits the trd tip.

I had the gloss black tip on my OEM but apparently the trd pipe has a slightly wider diameter and won’t accept to tip.

There is almost no difference in sound; if this was done behind my back I may not even have ended up noticing.

Quick questions are, does that oval top on the trd unit significantly add to the sound?
Also, if anyone else has done the same thing, did you add a tip for any reason, and if so, what tip and why?

-I am ready for all the comments of, “if it’s axle dumped why do you care about a tip”, but just humor me.

    TIA

This was my OEM, I also liked how the tip kept more exhaust gasses off of the spare. When I cut the trd pipe, I cut it high enough for the tip to end up in the same place but without a tip, I’m just the tiniest bit concerned about heat on the tire, even if it’s probably negligible.
