I agree and in a perfect world that would be awesome. But we're far from a perfect world. In this world, most people will not read the manual and most people will not realize their car is braking. Out of those people that don't realize it, there is a slight chance someone will cook their brakes. That should have been enough justification for a simple light that let's u know the automated braking is being engaged. Just my .02

    I agree with you.

On my wifes Subaru the little brake light on the car icon light up when the cruise control brakes on its on. If you arent looking you will miss it, but at least its there. Toyota hasnt refined the Tacoma cruise system quite to Subaru levels I think.

I don’t know why the Tacoma feels the need to brake check the vehicle behind me but they must’ve done something to tick her off. She’s a little more temperamental than I am.

I do find it a little frustrating and slam on the gas to overpower the system, she doesn’t like dark to light transitions perpendicular to the road. It happens in my ‘20 Volvo but MUCH less frequently. The Tacoma seems to do it twice a week and the Volvo does it twice a year, to be fair, the Volvo is driven less frequently.

Just happened to me for the first time this week after owning truck about a year. Nothing I could figure out on the highway that tricked it. Appears the TSS is really far away from any sort of FSD mode.

does anyone have a factual account of someone being tracked/hacked/identity stolen from an unobscured license plate posted online?
