Finally got around to installing my new head unit (cheap boss audio head unit) and speakers in my truck. When I turn key on, the radio powers up and works fine, but when I turn it off and turn it back on, the dash clock resets as well as all of the radio settings. Haven't seen any fuses blown or anything shorting out. There is some issue with the red and yellow wires going into the back of the head unit. The head unit wouldnt get power at all until I combined the yellow and red wires in the harness. I will get some pics of the wiring harnesses and the diagrams. Just can't wrap my head around why it isn't working.

The radio that was in before this worked fine and never had any issue with it or the dash clock resetting, but it didnt have Bluetooth and the speakers were shot so that's why I replaced it all.

You shouldn't connect both the yellow and red together. The yellow is to be connected to a 12v source that has power at all times. The red wire is to be connected to a 12v source that has power only when the key is turned to the accessory position. You currently have both wires connected to an accessory position source. The yellow wire connected to constant 12v power source will retain your radio settings.

Disregard. Got it figured out. Cleaned terminals and replaced fuse that didn't look blown but I guess it was the issue.

I had yellow and red wires seperate but after the fuse blew the only way to get power was when I joined them. Thanks for the help.
