Well today I bought a new modification for the Tacoma replace the original battery which is 9 years old with a Duracell picture attached the battery works for me I don't do any off-roading and very little Towing but this one actually went up to over 840 cold cranking apps over the originals 710 so we'll see how it works out I can tell you this already the door beep is actually louder now the only problem with the installation is the original battery hold down has one fixed attachment and it was slightly too short so I've used a part that I picked up from Nuno couple years ago which is the old battery hold down holder and just modified it so I can get the longer attachment had to rethread it cut off the excess works perfect
I got a lower price on this because I'm a veteran was only 10% but covered the core charge for the day when I take the battery back I'll get the $20 on that so that's a $40 savings on my part so it worked out well for me

The price of batteries has skyrocketed over the last several years...or maybe I'm just old and cranky

 

I gave up wondering what got me a vacation from this forum. I have quite Saturday evening ahead with my dogs. Wifey and a girlfriend went to see the judds with Martina McBride. Our malamute is healing from a broken toe back from thanksgiving. So she is watched 24/7 so she doesn’t lick her wounds from the cast she had on for two months.

Nice to have my brakes finally done. Looking at ordering rears soon.

I am however still anticipating a shimmy when I apply the brakes.

 

Why? If you did rotors and pads you should be shimmy free.

My rears lasted over 200k, yours are probably still good. Just need them adjusted.

I've had a front brake shimmy for so long that it's weird now it's gone. The truck stops real smooth.
I have to do the rear brakes because of a L/R axle leak. The shoes got gear oil on them.

 

A month after I did my rears I had the drivers rear axle seal go...I washed them down with brake cleaner and put them back on as I heard others have done.
Cleaned up nice... mine were brand new so I was willing to try. Yours with your discount.... yeah new is better.

I already have new wheel cylinders and I'll be picking up axle seals from the dealership this week.

I got the same ones... they shipped them separately and arrived 3 days apart. I thought they only sent one so called and they sent out another...

Oldest has been a little sick since yesterday. Took him to the doc, negative for flu and Covid. Doc said must be a viral thing and just has to run it's course.

 

This is the same one I got. It was awesome. It had everything in the kit.
