Is that the one going south through Nevada from Tonopah to Vegas?

Looks like Sky King's plane from the '50s series.

They were Cessna T-50 & 310B on the TV - windows are wrong for this one.

Zoom in on his photo, you can just make out the round window at the very back, also the small skylight looking window over the pilots and maybe the right side vertical tail fin at a crooked angle.

Definitely a tail dragger, so the 310 is out. I think the Beech 18 is spot on, but I think it may be the AT-7 Navigator military version. It looks like a single round hole in the back. Similar to the photo below:

I call BS on this picture! It does not belong in this thread! The title of this thread is "Wierd, cool stuff you found in the woods" and I don't see a single tree in that cool photo! (J. K! I jest!)

The reason I didn't take more pictures is because I wanted the ones that I did take had my truck in them so they would qualify to be listed in the forum here.

I thought I'd seen that plane before, so I'm glad my memory of it was accurate.

You could post the pics of the plane and the sign here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/whos-been-to-a-brothel.768141/

It would be a much appreciated contribution.

3 Pulaski's, a McLoed tool, and a heavy pry bar two days hike into Glacier Peaks. They had been up there awhile. the Wanatchee Complex fire was later that same year so i recon the last one in these particular hills was likely 2007. Used one of them to fashion a temporary bridge across a creek that we didn't care much to wade back through. (burrrr) Left them up there otherwise.

Not really cool or in the woods, but I found this very strange. From my understanding, my neighborhood started being built in the 1950s to provide worker housing for the Dupont plant. My house was built in 1955. Yellow outline is my property. The red is like a whole side yard. I recently started metal detecting and started out in my side yard. Been finding things that just makes you wonder what in the world went on over there in the past. I've dug up an old garden hose attached to a pipe, the top of a tube of muscle ointment and various other unidentifiable scraps of metal. Not to mention there are random bricks buried around the yard.

We recently put up a new building and to get electricity to it we had to rent a trenching machine. One of those things with a blade like a huge chain saw that lowers into the ground.
The very first time we lowered the blade, in our back yard, about six inches into the soil we hit white plastic. And it smelled BAD.
We thought it must have been some kind of sewer line in a place where there should be no sewer and at a depth that was too shallow for sewer.
So we kept going because the damage was already done.
Soon there was colored plastic coming up... and bones.
    WTF???
We considered, speculating about babies that might have disappeared.
Suddenly there was something attached to the blade, flopping as it came around on the rotating blade. At first we thought it was a wet towel. But then we saw hair.
Eventually we discovered a collar, a dog's jaw, and the container was a cooler. A make-shift coffin that let the dog liquify but not decompose. The floppy thing was the intact hide.

I can see how someone would bury a loved pet in a cooler... but I'm glad I never did it.
