Love living in Canada, not trying to complain. Im sure for anyone living in Canada the huge difference in the price of parts between here and the USA is nothing new. On numerous occasions I end up spending more money in shipping than the value of the part. I always try and support local shops when I can but sometimes I just can't take the difference in price.

I just had to buy a ac crankshaft pulley for a first gen 2.7l.
The local dealer wanted over 200$ for the part.
All the Canadian dealers wanted around 150$ before shipping, so also around 200$.
Found a local guy parting out a truck, and he wanted 50$ for it...

So how much is it on the US websites? 10-15$ usd.

I had to go through a bunch of dealers websites to find one that shipped to Canada, one only shipped to the US and Switzerland? Finally found a dealer in Illinois that shipped to Canada.
Part and shipping still came in under 50$ cad, about 35$ usd.

For reference if you are looking for parts Elmhurst Toyota in Illinois ships to Canada. I also buy parts off RockAuto a fair amount when the price difference is too much between that and the local parts stores. If anyone else has any tricks of the trade for getting parts in Canada without getting hosed feel free to post.
