After owning my 2022 Sport since July, I realized I was starting it wrong.
I would push and hold the start Botton til the starter kicked in.
Finally realized, you just need to give it a quick poke with yer finger.....DUH!!
Wondering if any of you guys went through this also?

A lot of newer keyed cars are this way too. You just bump it and it’ll do the rest. I learned that a couple cars ago so the push button was a natural quick push.

If you really like pushing and holding buttons... push the PTS button, without applying the brakes... keep the PTS button depressed, and wait... and wait... and wait... then see what happens.

Also helps if you have a dying battery. I didn't know this truck at the time, but I discovered letting off the brake while it tried to start would allow the truck to focus more energy into the starter since it didn't have to worry about the electronic brake booster (TRD OR models and above). It allowed me one last start so I could get to O'Reilly's. We were in Arches NP at the time so a jump start likely wasn't happening any time soon had it not started.

I just push till the motor turns over and release. No use of holding you might burn out the starter.

How are you doing the remote start? Push 2 times then hold it till it starts also???

Push 3 times, lights blink and it starts on its own. Same as inside, just a go button, not a starter button pretty much.

Crazy I bought my truck in December 2019 and I’ve been holding in the starter button all this time until I read this thread. Life changing

Not me. I did however just find out I could move the steering wheel in and out. Knew it could be adjusted up and down but idk why I never tried pulling on it.

Only natural if used to cranking with a key… it will absolutely not hurt anything tho, except maybe your finger if you’re that fragile
