Is the 1A here just a location identifier or something?

Thanks I figured it was the ECU side plug identifier, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some odd way of showing an additional 1a fuse somewhere.

Been following this thread and reluctantly tried my charger for the 1st timein a long while, could never get it to work before.
Placed it face up,, front right corner, hit the switch and the light came on. What a surprise! I gave up long ago S21 in a otterbox defender case
I'm going to hold the button for 3 seconds next time for the quick charge option.:anonymous:

To reuse the connector(M5) and use some of the wires in the OEM charger there's this for a no cut to the vehicle wiring.
    upload_2023-1-31_3-49-38.jpg
12368 is the connector already in the vehicle wiring loom to the charger.
    12367 mates to it.

Toyota part picture accuracy, and mostly lack thereof, had me guessing which the correct other end was. I also didn't spend much time looking for an equivalent on mouser. I ended up just get this and depinning it (horribly, does anyone know where to get a pinning tool that fits these plugs?).

I got it all wired up and installed last night, twice... I realized after I had it together I didn't swap the upper portion with the retention clip and had to pull it apart and doing it again.

Wow .. I had hoped to be done with wireless charging 'wimpness' when I came back to the Tacoma .. but it appears to be a Toyota problem in general. There is a guy over in the Tundra Forum (where I came from) who is 3D printing / fabing a direct replacement for the Tundra wireless charger. He was very close to production. Maybe we can get him to make a similar module for the Tacos!!! You can read about the process here:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/qi-charger-solution-a-fix-is-nigh.115096/

Looks like a great solution... you can follow @Front_Range_Pro on IG for his updates.

The tool is 1mm x .06mm. Is this the 12368/12367 Connector you mentioned above?

Obviously as they were referenced in the post with the ask.

The depinning hole is about 1/2 or 1/3 the size of the pin and the pin is ~ .65 x .70 mm.

Perhaps these are only supposed to be retained by the additional clip in the connector but the force required to pull them out was great and it removed some plastic on the way out. Maybe out of spec from the seller I bought from or non OEM, not going to test on the oem plug for oem charger as I'd like to be able to put it back in if need be.

More than just a few circuits that 7.5A ECU-ACC handles. But mostly signals. Charger and Remote mirror are the hogs.

I was just directed to this post from Reddit. I solved this issue by wiring up a Magsafe charger to the existing circuit.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/ToyotaTaco...ing_the_wireless_charger/?utm_name=androidcss

The basics of it is a 5v step down is soldered into the power and ground of the factory chargers wiring harness. The Magsafe is then soldered to that along with a fan for good measure. It all sits in a housing I 3d printed.

I've been using this for about a month now and it's working perfectly. The Magsafe isn't too powerful because of the rubber pad and the phone case, but it gives enough of a haptic response to know that it's positioned correctly.

This is really well executed solution! Really awesome work and much nicer than my fix.

Just a relevant note (because so many fail to notice their devices/cases don’t lay flat) for phones with huge camera bumps: The camera or camera protection of your case is what prevents the device from interfacing with the qi pad.
If using a mag safe puck, the puck needs to be raised above the surrounding surface to be able to magnetically attach.
I ran into this issue using a printed MagSafe tray
This comment or note isn’t directed at grumpy wizard. Just trying to be helpful for anyone who has a fat camera and is looking into something similar. This may already be mentioned here, but it’s late and I don’t remember if it was brought up or not
