Heads Up! New 2023 Tacoma TRD alert.

Brand new member here. Brand new Lunar Rock Tacoma TRD. Under 200 miles driven so far. Love the truck but need to make everyone aware of a potential for accident and even death. Yesterday the cover plate for the cruise control knob/handle came loose. It slid up the handle when I was turning the steering wheel and caught on the wiper control handle preventing my turn. Luckily I was only driving about 5mph and was able to quickly stop. After the stop I was able to freely turn the steering wheel not knowing what caused the issue. Started to drive again and again it got stuck while trying to turn the wheel. This time I paid attention to what was happening and was able to remove the loose cover plate. No more issues. I contacted Toyota Corporate to report the issue in the hopes they would care to fix it prior to someone getting seriously hurt or killed. Prompt reply was that they would not be able to technically diagnose the issue without seeing my vehicle. I replied that it was for notification purposes only and I intended to have my brand new Tacoma serviced at the dealer.
Hopefully this can prevent anyone from being hurt by this same issue. Be Safe and Take Care.
