I would like to lift my 2023 TRD Pro when I get it just enough to accommodate 33’s. I don’t want to replace the Fox suspension. I looked into spacers, but then someone told me with spacers after I add the stuff I want (Rock Sliders, Bumper, Winch, Light Bar, etc) it will weigh down the spacers and the wheels will rub. They then suggested I just get bigger springs, but said it would make the ride stiffer.

Has anyone had any experience of this sort or could weigh in here? Also, if so could someone post a link to the ideal springs, the person that recommended has since left. I want JUST enough lift to clear 33’s, nothing more. I am looking to buy all the stuff needed to modify my truck before it comes in.

Thank you for your time to anyone who can assist.

It's not just the height of the tires and the lift. You need to know how wide the tire will be and what offset you need on your wheels to clear the control arms, and if that offset will then move you into the area where trimming or chopping is needed. Will lifting it that much change enough of the geometry to cause strain that requires more modifications or replacement parts? It's not just lifting it to pop something in. There's lots of variables.

You'd be better off getting a suspension designed for the height you want than trying to force the stock suspension into a role it isn't designed for.

Westcott designs make a preload collar kit for your truck that will allow you to run a 33" factory wheels, no UCAs, and no CMC... but you are correct that when you add sliders, a bumper, winch, etc you will weight the truck down.

You need stiffer springs if you plan to add weight like that. I noticed my truck was weighed down simply with sliders. you're talking about adding tons of weight-more weight than most people add. You definitely need a stiffer spring rate.

As mentioned above, lift does not help clear tires. Unless you don’t plan on driving your truck.

You can fit 255/85/16 or 255/80/17 (33”x10”)with no modifications on stock rims, might have to remove front mudflaps.

Im running 255/80/17 on 4mm offset wheels and don’t rub on stock mudflaps.

I have a 2023 TRD Pro with the Westcott Designs kit and 285/75r16's. Love the setup and did not need a CMC. BUT! if you plan on running the stock wheels, you will need wheel spacers because 33's will rub on the new red UCAs. I confirmed with Westcott. I have -25 offset wheels. and anything between 0 and -25 will clear them. hope this helps

Have not wheeled it yet. it's definitely tight but clears around town. -25 is pretty aggressive and im sure a lower offset wheel would have much more room. CMR and viper cut are in the future tho... I know 33's are just gonna end up being a gateway drug to 35's

Has anyone who installed the Westcott designs collar checked with their local dealer to see if it would void their warranty on any suspension components/front driveline issues/CV Axles, those sorts of things?

    it varies dealer to dealer.

Most will if they installed the lift, but many will reject items relate to the lift.

Personally for a pro just get a small top hat spacer and call it a day. The westcot lift rides like crap and the pro shocks ride amazing without them.

I haven't personally checked but I did see a post about someone having one installed by the dealer. The lower collar would be pretty tough to even notice if you didn't have knowledge of it

It's a safe bet that, if suspension geometry is changed, anything changed that breaks will not be covered by warranty (Shocks, springs, ball joints, tie rods, drive shafts, CVs, etc). Or at least someone at Toyota will use that as an excuse not to cover any of that stuff.

Good to know. I don't have the truck and I am not even sure if I want to go with larger tires at this point. My biggest reason would be rake from front to back so I guess I will see how it looks once it finally shows up next month.

    Thanks for the reply

Think about it from the opposite perspective. If you had a customer come in with a product of yours that was defective. But the customer had modified how it worked. Would you "repair or replace" the item in question?
