    Has anyone had any success installing these two together?

    After waiting weeks longer than expected for the cat shield it seems like their may be some drilling involved to make the two work together

    Anybody made this work? It also seems like skid plates have to be off to install the cat shield.

    Hey @metalmule,

    We engineered our cat shields to work adjacent to most brands of skid plates. You do have to remove your existing skid plate to install the shields just from how close it tucks into the body.
    As for drilling, we are not 100% sure on that for install.

    Let us know if you run into any issues and we'll have our engineer help you out, thank you for your support!

    I have cbi skids. It would be a pain in the ass to steal the cats with just the skids mounted.

    I haven't done the install, taking the skids off is something I haven't been looking forward to.

    The way I see it they should fit as long as a hole is drilled through them to allow a specific bolt to pass through.

    I've got to figure out which drill bit to use and what size is best.

    Have hardware in hand > measure said hardware > pick appropriate sized drill bit > drill appropriate sized hole.

    Add in taking off skid plates, going to hardware store, purchasing correct drill bit, waiting for vehicle to cool down, etc.

    Would anyone happen to know a good ballpark bit size to purchase? I'm assuming m8 hardware is being used for the skids but unsure

    If this process seems overwhelming for you, I respectfully suggest you take it to a shop and let them do it.

    Also an M8 size bolt is a 8MM hole.

    Never said it was overwhelming. Not asking for your help if you don't want to provide it.

    Cat shields have been installed. 1/2 inch hole has to be drilled into each cat shield and they have to be mounted with bolts tightened to properly measure where the holes should be drilled.

    I can upload photos if anyone needs them but basically the hole right after the two installation bolts is what had to be drilled out so that the mounting hardware for the skid plates can pass through.

    This can 100% be done from the manufacturer and I expect it to be corrected if the product ever gets a revision.

    @CaliRaisedLed
    @SicTierTRD

    These two products work together with slight modification.

    @metalmule

    pictures would be great. I’m currently waiting for my CBI full skids to arrive. I am currently running a miller cat shield but I will be unable to use them with the skids. Thanks!

    Nicely done. Just a heads up for anyone purchasing the Cali Raised Led cat shields. Their newest version does not go over the crossbar so I don't think there is any modification needed to run them with CBI skids.

    Good to know. Currently waiting for both to come in. I’ll update once I start the install.
