How much more tire pressure should you run? I have a 2013 DCLB V6 with tow package and will be towing Ca to TN and will have the bed and trailer full with a apartment move (couch, bed, dressers, everything else in a 1-2 bedroom apartment)
I installed Sumo Springs for support but am hoping any extra advice will help with the long drive. I know this will depend on tire size and brand. 265/70R17. 2 ply is what I have. 44psi max at 2,695lbs
    Usually I run about 32-34PSI
    Thanks everyone!

That’s maybe 500-600lbs cargo. Should be very comfortable tow. Drive in 4th or 5th gear and go 65mph max. Load the truck heavier in the front.. U-haul recommends 60/40 split which is easy to remember. When going uphills downshift early and don’t lug in too high a gear. Make sure you have adequate power before shifting. Turn off AC if going uphill for extended periods of time.

Put all that cargo in the trailer. Only load the lightest stuff that won’t fit. Go up maybe 5psi if your going to be extra heavy.

Load your truck and trailer up. Tow for a bit and see how it feels. Does your truck have a slight mushy side to side feel? After 15-30 minutes of driving, get out and feel the tires. Are they hot? If so, you need to add pressure. Learn what different pressures feel like by starting at your regular pressure. Add 5 psi all around and note how it feels. Drive for a bit and add another 5 psi. See how that feels. You want a pressure that doesn't make the truck feel mushy, but planted.

Driving with too low of pressure will generate excessive heat. All tires have an operating temperature that works best. When you exceed that temp, tires will lose their silica compounds faster and lose their grip sooner even though there is plenty of tread left. That's called heat cycling. Track tires are more susceptible than street tires, but it can and will still happen. I had it happen to Michelins on an old S10.

Yup, I have '17. I have both plugs. No adapter needed. '16 and up have same setup as long as tow package is installed.

My 2017 did okay towing a fully loaded 6x12 with no issues, they usually have the 4 pin connector so just take that in mind if you don’t have one. I also had 600lbs in the bed of my truck while towing. Pretty much drove it only about 55-60 in the slow lane hitting potholes all the way from Lake Havasu to Kingman. I averaged 10.5mpg which I thought I’d be getting… but yeah no issues.
