So as the summer plans begin to take shape the wife and I are looking at a trip in the Taco in early June-bug season! Current thoughts are to go explore Drummond Island and then loop up into northern Ontario and around Superior via a more inland route. Any of you played/explored in that region? I have contact with a couple of guys on TW who live up north, but haven't really explored where I am looking at-cross a Sault St Marie and go north/west... Looking for highlights!

I’ve been outside in -20 a few times in life. I can’t even imagine what 20 minutes in -70 would be like. No thanks to that!

I've been bringing whatever projects in the house that I can. Next week I'll be back in the garage.

Drummond Island looks like a good time.

Can't bring the truck in the house lol. Wanted to continue on phase 2 of project 35's, beat pinch welds flat.

Have a few things left before Moab:
    - Finish clearancing for 35's - Done
    - Get new tires mounted - Done
    - Install new inner cv boot on passenger cv axle - Done
    - Fix small leak between front diff and ADD extension tube (FIPG for some reason didn't seal when I installed new front diff) -Done
    - Weld in spindle gussets -Done
    - Get front end alignment
    - modify bed rack to mount rotopax water containers.
    - go through camping gear

I think that's it. Only so many weekends left and would prefer them to be above freezing!

That sounds like a fun trip! I can't suggest many places but it's a beautiful area in general even if all you do is drive. Slightly out of the way probably for your route, but if you've never been there before consider a stop at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. A bit of hiking and hundreds of stairs to climb but some amazing waterfalls.

I second that! I let my truck warm up for 10 min before leaving work, 30 min commute home all on country roads at 60 mph with like 2 stop signs so it gets plenty warm. I backed in the garage and it still sounded like there was marbles rolling around in the engine bay. :(

So I might be doing something smart/stupid this weekend and possibly will end up with a Warn 8K winch that I don't want. Would anyone have a use if I can get it at a discount (like $500)? Seems like it's too small for our trucks and too big for something like an ATV...

    Fixed it for ya.

Tuesday morning I had a disturbing clunking noise coming from the driver's side front suspension/steering area. Sounded horrible, but I was pretty certain that it was just some chunks of ice somewhere. I parked in the sun in the lot at work and by lunchtime there were some puddles under the truck and the noise was gone.

It's funny how in tune we are with these trucks. At the first sign of a vibration or different noise or "feel" we freak out a little.

On the other hand, yesterday I ended up behind a beater going about 20 down Brown Deer Rd in a 45 zone, left lane. Made my way around it to see they had a donut spare on up front and the rubber was shredded and falling off the rim. Some people... :annoyed:
