Anyone near Nashville have any experience building a DIY wedge camper? I’ve been wanting to do the build for a while but am a bit intimidated. I’m somewhat handy but have never touched a welder or sewing machine. Wondering if anyone nearby would be willing to offer tips or if anyone local would want to build one at the same time and we can work together?

I'm south of Nashville about and hour and have access to a sheet metal shop for cutting and bending and a welder at home I'm happy to share. I'm incredibly interested in building one myself but I would need to go over the budget first. I also have a consumer sewing machine with a limited skillset to operate it. PM me if you're interested.

Advice from someone who has thought about going down this path and is a relatively good fabricator… either follow @Ripcord and expect to be $4k and a shit load of headache in something that is meh quality, or just spend the money to buy a GFC.
