Hello all! Just joined the Tacoma and Barcelona Red club last week. Looking forward to many of miles ahead of us!

Placed an order for an ARE Z series camper shell yesterday paint matched. Time to wait.

 

You have to admit that color is amazing.

 

Looks great, wish my window tint was that dark! Good luck with the shell, you may want to look into ways to seal the front corners of the bed before you have the shell in place (only if you want it to be water tight). Currently trying to seal my Tonneau cover and I couldn't image doing it with a shell in the way. Congrats on the truck!

 

I went down that rabbit hole last night. I'm waiting on the weather to warm up a little and I'll dig through the garage and see what I can come up with. which method are you going with?

 

I've tried a few.

Started simple with some foam I had at the house and some caulk, didn't work. Next I tried butyl tape, better but not sealed enough to my liking (I also think the cold isn't allowing me to press the butyl tape into all of the tight spaces I need it to fit into). Going to try a cap seal that some folks have recommended with some butyl tape and see if that works along with some foam in the gaps at the head of bed.

I don't expect it to be perfect but it pools in the front corners and I don't want luggage to get soaked as we drive with a fully packed bed. The wife also has a coworker that had a cap installed and it leaks so I know I'm not crazy, I'm not sure what they have tried.

Here are the threads I'm using advice and input from:

• Rubber Plugs OEM to seal bed
• Camper shell/bed leaks
• Sealing holes in front of bed

New rims and tires. Vision Nemesis 17x9 -12 offset and Goodyear Ultra-Terrain 285/70R17

What kind of lift set up do u have?

 

It looks a lot better with new wheels and tires
17x8 Level 8 Mk6’s, 0 offset, and 265/65R17 Toyo Open Country ATIII’s (ignore the fingers, was trying to block the sun glare)

 

Fox 2.0 - sits about 2.5” higher in the front and 1 1/2” block in the rear.

 

Looking at old post. Did you just swap stock tires onto aftermarket wheels?
