Gaps will do that; fitment is absolutely key here.

Just to clarify, I can see the arc just fine, it's the piece I'm welding that's not visible

If you're not welding a lot, especially as a job (or even side gig) I'd venture to say you won't need anything more than the 1740 (left).

It's got a smaller lens, and settings from 9-13 (all you'll need really) and it's really lightweight and comfortable.

The 3350 has a wider range of shades from 5-13, an external button to turn off auto darkening, a more comfortable headband, but is noticeably heavier especially during long sessions. That and it's twice the cost of the 1740.

Have you guys ever seen an abrasive attachment that might clean up the inside of the pipe from stray splatter, etc?

For pipe fitment absolutely. Doing the manifolds with my buddy on his 300zx was endless cold saw and belt sander work, we wheeled em both over to the car.

It should be dim but you should see the path forward, you might need a 9 shade or to clean your lens

Well I'll grind this down and get by with what I have for now, thanks guys.

The back and forth to get the perfect fit was the most annoying part lol

It's mild, and it isn't super thin. Stainless would be a cracking concern with this kind of weight on it and heat cycling. No one wanted to spend thrice the time for the same result, it got cerakoted anyway.

Is this a crossover or a dump tube for a wastegate?

Crossover. It'll go into a makeshift x-pipe where it'll merge with the passenger side, and I'll mount the waste gate at the intersection, and then it'll split into the twin turbos right after.
