LS6 Swap 2nd Gen Build + New Tundra

Where did you get the rubber flooring and how much was it? My carpets are shot

 

Got it off of McGeorge Toyota, but the part is discontinued. They happened to have one left in stock. You’ll just have to hunt around dealers till ya find one.

Well I started my A.D.D. Delete. Got the diff tube assembled no problem. Went to remove the driver CV and I cannot get it out. Trying to do the ECGS bushing too. Ugh....

Ordered a CV specific slide hammer. Adding to the list of tools I'll probably only need once but are too expensive to get rid of afterwords.

 

Ever try aircraft cable looped around the cv and attached to a sledge slide hammer idea. I have the stuff but haven't needed it yet.

I just use a pry bar it normally just pops straight out.

 

Bigger pry bar did the trick. Now, to get the ADD stub shaft out. Another member recommended I use a punch and tap it out from the driver side. I'll try that tonight. Work is making it difficult to get time on the truck...

On cooler news, to finish the interior for now, I picked up some Corbeau RRB's and some planted tall seat brackets.


Eventually, after the truck is driving, I'll be doing a full cage inside the truck. B and C pillar hoops, and a pillar bars.

 

5 lb sledge hammer, not that much force, using a chisel on any of the notches and they come right out with one whack....

I’m telling you I beat and beat and beat on those cv’s using those bitches and it wouldn’t budge. Actually had to pry it out.

Make sure you reach out to ecgs about this. They should replace it without question or maybe refund you.

I took the Kings off to sell them, since the truck is just going to sit until my LT stuff finally arrives. Based off my ETA from BTF, that should be in the next week or so.


ADD successfully deleted. No more stupid actuator. Huge thanks to @AllTacosFloat for hooking it up and sending me over his ECGS tool. Lifesaver. Should get it Monday and have the driver side back together.

I left both CV's out, since the BTF kit comes with new axles. I cut the shafts off my current ones and inserted the hub splines and and axle nut to keep my wheel bearing together. Thats why my diff tube is wrapped up, to prevent FOD intrusion. Once the ecgs bushing is finally in, I'll wrap it too.

Sent a message over to 4xinnovations about their internal roll cage kit. This checks all the boxes of what I want, with the exception of a harness bar behind the front seats(b pillar hoop). Asked them to see if they can get one added to the kit, if so, I'll be ordering it and having it fabbed into the truck. Knowing how to weld, well, knowing how to weld worth a damn, would come in handy A LOT with this truck...

 

This build is awesome! Looking forward to seeing some updates.

In other news, my planted seat brackets that were backordered finally arrived today. Tonight, Ill put the seats in, then the interior is complete until the roll cage gets here, and I need to make a center console for the GM shifters.

 

Corbeau’s are finally in. Moved all the airbag and seat sensors wires over to the new seats. No airbag light for me, and the airbags will still deploy in an accident. Not that the light matters, I’ll have the Holley dash. Lol.

I went with the planted seat brackets, the tall version. Seats fit great. Used those brackets for the seats in my RC and loved them.

Only things to do inteiror wise are the roll cage and the center console. Maybe tomorrow I’ll tackle cleaning up the wiring for the front end, and put in the auto brake booster. Take the clutch out. Good stuff.
