Sure I could pull over and pop the hood and hook up my portable compressor or for convenience just pay the $1.50 or whatever to put some air in my tires and get to work.

I pull up to the thing and it’s credit card only. I’m like:

Fuck no, Fuck that, and Fuck you.

those things are card skimmer central. What happened to just quarters? Was this a covid thing?

I haven't used a gas station air pump in decades. I have one at home.

I would think more people have credit, debit, pre pay cards then people having coins / cash.

There are ways to protect yourself. Give it a good yank and wiggle, if it doesn’t come off or budge it’s legit. Worst case scenario, just get one of those Walmart prepaid debit cards or something for these types of uses…

Glad we still have a gas station where they will come out and check your air and oil.

Weird. I always thought my portable inflator was infinitely more convenient than the gas station.

Lmao. Glad I'm not the only one who found these things offensive and annoying AF. I noticed them a couple years ago.

I knew things were bad when AIR started costing money!
Reminds me of the Lorax movie.

The best purchase I ever made...

Was one of those little air inflators from Lowes...it has a 12v (USB) and a 110V (home) plug on it. It takes about 2 minutes to pump a tire from about 30 to 45 PSI. I *never* have to wait in line at the air pump again. It has saved us time when my wife got a flat one morning (I was able to inflate the tire and then just drive it to the tire shop instead of having to put the spare on).

The best part is...you set it once, and make your way around the vehicle...attach it at each wheel, hit start, and then go back into the garage to stay warm while it inflates. When it's done, it beeps...and you move onto the next one.

No more feeling like an idiot at the air pump because there's 4 people in line behind you. No more waiting for Big Bertha to fill up all four of her tires and mindlessly leave her car there to go inside the gas station and get coffee...

I want to say it was about $40. But I'd gladly pay $200 for a replacement now. I've had it for nearly 4 years now.
