    I was always told that they have to match, but searching online shows that some do and some don't. The important issue is the broadcast frequency 315 mhz for US and Japan. 433 mhz for Europe. The button configuration must also match what the vehicle is expecting and the Transmitter / receiver must coordinate.

    I don't think the '07 has that feature on the BECU pinout.

    For TACO's that do have it, it's behind the drivers headlight. Usually taped to OEM harness in that area.
