I'm currently running ADS extended travel 2.5's with external reservoirs and adjusters.

I'm planning on upgrading to either Fox or Kings. For people who have had both, is the additional adjusters with fox make a noticeable difference?

These will be tuned through accutune.

If it's good enough for Chloe, it's good enough for me.

I've had both ADS 2.5 ext non-adjustable and now have King 2.5 ext adjustables. The change was noticeable and worthwhile. But more importantly than adjusters, get them properly tuned, from a company like @AccuTune Offroad.

Definitely smoother and more controlled over rough terrain. I felt like the ADS did well over a single bump, but would kind of lose their composure through multiple hits. I think it was a tuning issue, more than the quality of the shock.

The adjusters are nice, as I can dial the truck in, for different loads.

Tuning is great, but proper setup is almost more important. If you are topping out the shocks like you say, the coilovers are lifted too much. No tune will fix that.

We've got some detailed articles on Fox vs King if you havn't seen them already. Send over a message if you have any other questions.

I had almost zero preload and was still topping out. Seen a couple people have that issue with ADS but I didn't want to do limit straps. Might do that when I buy my new ones

If the shock is sitting too tall in its overall travel, it will top out quicker and more often. Spring rate could be the issue, not allowing you to lower the shock from where its at. Spring length and weight rating would all play a factor in this.
