    Hi All
I have an 08 Tacoma and at 30-40 mph it rattles a lot so I stop pushing the gas pedal for a second and its stops. If i drive it on 4th it doesn’t do it at all. Has anybody come across something like this?

Ever replaced the center support bearing and u-joints on the driveshaft?

Could also be the heat shields for the exhaust system. They come loose and rattle.

like said above, check your U joint play, and carrier bearing. and since you're messing with one replace it all honestly. i grabbed a chalk line set a line all the way down and then a paint marker to make sure my line didnt get messed up. replaced my sloppy carrier bearing in June my u-joints looked fine, didn't replace them, and put the boxes on my shelf, climbed up under because it was getting a vibration, carrier was fine, but those u-joints that looked over were super crusty and the one at my rear diff had a chunk missing from a cap. replaced and no more vibration.

point of note torque the bolts down really good. you may get a vibration with one of the bolts loose, my nephew brought his truck over with a bad vibration under acceleration from a stop, one bolt had backed itself or hadn't been tightened down well.

and the cheapest option take your tires could have thrown some weights. probably fairly inexpensive to have a local tire. alignment shop do a check they may also inspect driveline for play.

Make sure your rear axle u-bolts are torqued to around 74ft lbs. I had a similar rattle issue when going over bumps, and my rear u-bolts were not tight enough.
