Where Have You Off-Roaded Today? 3rd Gen

Went to Diablo Canyon National Park in New Mexico, sorry I don't have photos of the trail leading up to this point.

 

Thule Homestead and China Dam North Phoenix. I forgot my phone, pictures are from the 3 jeeps accompanying me.

 

That is beautiful country.

 

Arizona has so much diversity, snow, pines, desert and everything in between. Lots of old west history too.

 

And lets not forget Radiator Springs. Cachow!

 

We decided to go up Durr Rd out of Ellensburg, WA today, and due to the recent warm temps and little to no snowfall, it was passable all the way to Selah, WA.

 

Took my dog to parado dog park in Chino, California , not much off-roading but it was a cool drive threw it

 

Looks like a fun trail. How difficult is the trail?

 

I would say moderate. Definitely some challenging sections that take careful tire placement. I have a hitch skid that hit hard a couple of times, but nothing scraped underneath. Fun trail that takes about 5 hours if you explore at both destinations. The big hill at the start of the trail is fun, bypass on the right.

 

Got into some unexpected mud on what was supposed to be a leisurely gravel drive. Was a hair-raising 30 minutes for a novice like me. Truck did its job and powered through, although I now fully understand the complaints about the stock tires. On the plus side, the mudflaps did a bang-up job of keeping the body pretty clean, so there's that.

Your set up sounds like mine. I have the hitch skid so I don't "f" up my hitch, I tow a small travel trailer. If you don't use your hitch you will probably be fine, but I scrape quite a bit, so I am glad I use one.
