    Hi everyone!
Just bought a (new to me) 2004 Prerunner. I've been looking for the right Tacoma for a long time and finally got my hands on one.

I've run into a little issue early on though. When I bring the window all the way up the door lock will hit or miss jam in the locked position. After some playing around with the window I can finally get it to unlock. Any adjustments I can make to prevent this from happening or any parts I can replace?

    Thanks!

I suspect you are going to have to remove the door panel and find out what's out of alignment inside, then correct that.

If the window is tracking and seating properly, the locking mechanism is likely the culprit. Since 1st gens sometimes have door handle failures, this may be result of a previous repair.

The previous owner was very honest about the door handle issues. He even gave me a spare he had on hand. Is there any way to upgrade to a door handle that is more reliable? If I tear into it I'd rather improve it.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have never had any problems. Sill original at 22 years

I think most problems are caused by yanking on a frozen Door .I spray silicone on the door seal at every oil change and more often in the winter.

If the door does not open freely i just keep gentle pressure on the handle and pry the door open very softly .

If that fails to work I break out the Heat Gun.

a complete lack of any maintenance.

I’m not 100% sure if it was a frozen door in this case being that the car never left the south since delivery. I assume it’s just from yanking on it while opening all those years. Some people are rougher than others.
