My 2016 has some scratches, minor dents, one area where a scratch is down to the metal (tailgate pad for bikes, and the foam pad inside the vinyl "envelope" slipped down during a 3 hour drive, causing a rack mount bolt to rub the paint off through the vinyl). Took my wife's car to get detailed and the guy told me he could do paint touchup and correction on the Taco. I'm in NY about an hour from NYC. He quoted $1600 with a 5 year ceramic coating after corrections. I've never done paint corrections before but I'm wondering a few things:
    1. Does that price sound fair/high? I assume it depends on how much damage there is.
    2. Is it really worth it? My Taco only has like 76k miles so I figure I'm going to have it for a long time, and I'm wondering if making it look newer is worth it.
    3. Would correction/ceramic help with any small dings that are starting to rust?
    4. Anything I should be aware of/ask beforehand?

    Thanks for any help.

It really depends on if your asking him to fix dent(s), are the scratches bad, those to bare metal need to be fixed. Rust.. you need to attend to that right away. Ceramic coating that are available now you can do. Either way coating comes with several types of application including a spray that claims to be one. Did he give you an idea how long it would take.

I didn't ask how long it would take. He had a bunch of Ferraris and Lambos in the garage, so I assume he really knows what he's doing. He didn't seem like the type to half-ass anything or rip me off. I just have no idea if this is worth it in general.
I should add that I don't offroad a lot and like my truck to look clean. So that makes me like the idea of fixing scratches and the ceramic coating.

It's fair depending on a few things. What brand of ceramic coating is he using? I'll agree with the first response on the rusting dings. They should be repaired first. I paid $1200-1400 for my 2015 Mustang and that was just correction and coating.

It realistically should take two-three days to do.
