New Colorado is nice looking, had a diesel ZR2 it was cool. Canyon is where it will be at with standard 2” lift and standard HO motor.

We also have about 55 2500 Chevy express’s, 2012-present years. Engine and tranny seem to be bombproof, 4.8L and 6 speed. Radiators and water pumps leak, but that’s about it.

Mind you they have been making these vans for a very long time, not much has changed with these vans in last 20 years or so.

Hey, wait a minute! I'm just getting into Toyotas. Now it's time to abandon them and go back to Chevrolet? Because of their great reliability and resale values no less? Shit, why did I leave Chevrolet in the first place? I feel pretty stupid right now.....

Nice thing about GM products is every part you replace is better quality than what came on the truck from the factory. And you'll be replacing every single part.
    Ask me how I know.........................

As of now. My 2nd gen (140k) and 3rd gen (110k) Tacoma's have been mostly problem free. Just some very minor things.

My 16 Chevy Colorado (130k) has been problem free also. Just one factory recall since new. I've actually thought about selling my 3rd gen (have to wait and see if the 4th gen offers a manual) and keep driving the Chevy for work and keep the 2nd gen to pass down to the kid in another 8 years.

They look pretty good, aesthetically and specs. Unfortunate they killed the extra cab and 6’ bed. Those DCSB won’t work me. Have a feeling the Toyota is going to kill the Access Cab with the ‘24.

I think so too. I didn't consider the chevy because of the crew cab bs. I don't need a bus. Everybody else does so that's what they sell. I hope this family pickup truck trend ends soon!

I don't see it ending anytime soon. Aesthetically, I like an AC long bed, but functionally, I like the CC. I'm not hauling people all the time; I drive solo or with my wife 95% of the time. But it comes in handy for hauling my work stuff, dogs, and other stuff I don't want to put in the bed.

What’s wrong with family pick ups? I keep seeing this statement on here and I don’t get it.

Most folks prefer to have some passenger room and a box to haul things. Pick up truck with 4 doors is a very versatile vehicle.

We have only one vehicle in our family and it does everything I want it to, work and play.

I could make it work, but the 6’ bed works so well for me. Has been my cab configuration for the last 20+ years. If they kill the AC Tacoma, I’ll probably move up to the Tundra next go around.

I would but they are just basic trucks. Practically no options when you order a regular cab truck.

There's nothing wrong with crew cab pickups except that's the only option if you want some features

Isn’t that what a good ol’ work truck supposed to be?…

Man, no offence to anyone but some folks are asking for too much these days. They want everything perfect for them, it doesn’t work that way tnough…

Yep - so for specific people Exhibit A: brother-in-law A - on his second Chevy in about 20 years - swears by them
Exhibit B: brother-in-law B rock crawling buddy - Ford (250 ???) Ford anyway no complaints
brother-in-law B has a Wrangler that looks like something they would send to rock craw around Mars.

All you have to do is search for owner reviews 2-3 years after purchasing a vehicle.

It's night and day between tacomas and silverados.

Sure, I can't deny that the Trail Bosses look great at the red lights.
But at the end of the day, it's a $40,000 truck in a $60,000 truck market (full size segment). You get what you pay for. If that's your budget, you either have to be ok with midsize or ok with work truck options.
